The gables were finished in September, but we kept dragging our feet on painting them. I was going back and forth on color choices (everything in Pewter Tankard, or introduce a new color?), and we were just very busy.
Then, last week, we noticed the weather forecast showed sun for several days, which is unusual for fall in the Pacific Northwest (usually it’s rain and more rain). So, my husband scrambled to take days off work, and ended up spending six days spackling, sanding, priming, and painting.
We got really lucky, too, because it wasn’t just that rain was coming—it turns out that snow was coming. Two mornings later, this is what we woke up to.
Next, we have to get the gutters and downspouts on. Good thing, too—we’ve heard there may be some precipitation…
